“This is my go to vegetable to serve with just about any meal. It is easy, quick and delicious.”
Asian Inspired Green Beans
Optional additions are sliced almonds or sesame seeds, and roasted red peppers.
1 1/2 poundsFrench green beans
3 Tbsp Tamari Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
1 tsp demerara sugar
1-2 Tbsp vegetable oil
6 garlic cloves, minced
Combine soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar in a small bowl and stir to combine.
In a large pot or wok boil salted water.
Add Green beans to the boiling water and cook until crisp tender about 4-6 minutes. Drain the beans.
Add 1-2 Tbsp of vegetable oil to a wok or skillet over medium high heat.
Add green beans, garlic and toss quickly, then add the soy sauce mixture and continue to toss beans until most of the liquid is absorbed.
When to make it
I use this recipe frequently because it is so easy and delicious. Serve it as a side for dinner and eat any leftovers for lunch cold on a salad.
