Southern Baked Beans

These baked beans are so good and easy. I used to add the bacon and brown sugar myself but decided to make it easier by using Bush's Baked Beans and then adding the rest of the ingredients. I serve them with fried chicken or pulled pork dinners.

Southern Baked Beans

  • 1 16 oz can Bush's Original Baked Beans seasoned with Bacon & Brown Sugar

  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp yellow mustard

  • ¼ cup chopped onion

  • ¼ cup chopped green pepper

  1. Preheat to 350°F.

  2. Pour the beans into a 13 x 9 baking pan.

  3. Stir the Worcestershire Sauce and mustard into the beans.

  4. Stir the chopped onions and green pepper into the beans.

  5. Bake the beans for about 40 minutes.

Notes: I usually eyeball the ingredients, sprinkle the Worcestershire Sauce across the top of the beans, then squirt the yellow mustard across the top and stir them in. Then I add the chopped onion and green pepper again adding as much or a little as I like. This way I can also make a small serving of beans using the 8 ounce can of Bush's beans.
